PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a medication for people who do not have HIV who want to stay negative. It is available by prescription only, and must be taken every day – like birth control but for HIV prevention.
Most insurance plans, including Medicaid, cover PrEP. For those without insurance, assistance may be available.

Undetectable = Untransmittable. People living with HIV can feel confident that if they take their medications as prescribed and maintain an undetectable viral load, they will not pass HIV to sexual partners.
International Condom Day, which was created by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Condoms are an effective method to reduce the chances of pregnancy and transmitting STIs, including HIV, when worn properly.
