LIVE HEALTHY & WELL
HIV
It’s a new day! With treatment, HIV can be reduced to very low, often undetectable, levels. This means better health and prevents transmission. PrEP offers extra protection for those without HIV.
Learn MoreHepatitis
More than 2.4 million people in the U.S. are living with Hepatitis C, a viral infection that affects the liver. A cure is now available with prescription treatment. There is a vaccine for another form of the virus, Hepatitis B.
Learn MoreSTIs
STIs, or sexually transmitted infections, are very common. Many show no symptoms so people often don't know they have one. Left untreated, STIs can cause serious health issues. The good news is that all STIs, including HIV, are treatable and many are curable.

The Louisiana Department of Health’s STI/HIV/Hepatitis Program (SHHP) coordinates a number of statewide and regional programs designed to prevent HIV and other STIs, to ensure the availability of quality medical and social services for HIV infected and affected individuals, and to track the impact of the epidemic in Louisiana.
